Behavior Technician

Function and Responsibilities:

  • Direct Therapy: Implements one-on-one ABA interventions under the supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Techniques include discrete trial training, natural environment teaching, and behavior modification.
  • Data Collection: Accurately records behavioral data during sessions to monitor progress and guide future interventions.
  • Family Support: Provides basic training and support to family members on how to reinforce behaviors and strategies at home.
  • Session Preparation: Prepares materials and settings to ensure effective and engaging therapy sessions.

Advanced Behavior Technician

Function and Responsibilities:

  • Enhanced Therapy Roles: Takes on more complex cases, applying advanced behavioral techniques to address challenging behaviors and support skill development.
  • Supervisory Duties: Oversees the work of Behavior Technicians, ensuring adherence to therapy plans and offering guidance based on their extensive experience.
  • Client Assessments: Assists BCBAs in conducting behavioral assessments and updating client treatment plans based on observed progress.
  • Training and Development: Conducts peer training sessions to elevate the skills of less experienced technicians.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Function and Responsibilities:

  • Therapy Design and Oversight: Develops individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments, tailoring interventions to each client’s needs.
  • Supervision and Training: Provides ongoing supervision, training, and professional development for both Behavior Technicians and Advanced Behavior Technicians.
  • Family Collaboration: Engages extensively with families to ensure a holistic approach, discussing progress, goals, and home-based strategies.
  • Quality Control: Ensures that therapy is delivered to the highest standards of practice, evaluating program effectiveness and making adjustments as necessary.
